Big high tide plus a little too much South or SSE in the wind put the beach and the waves in a big wind shadow. Out in the bay the wind was very strong with a vicious chop coming through the submerged headland upwind, Not much fun, even after changing down to JP 69 and 4.0m sail.

However, once the tide had dropped the waves moved out of the shadow and started to build and clean up the chop. Excellent conditions. JP v good in the strong winds - does not get blown about in the air and sails very smooth.

Nasty accident as a lone kitesurfer launched upwind of the rocks and smacked into them - helicopter rescue - severe injuries.

Wind increased further and realised I should quit whilst still in one piece.
